Background

This was a self-initiated project where I tasked myself with creating a brand identity for a coffee shop aimed at music enthusiasts. Everything from the name to menu had to be created.

Project

Derived from the insight that music has the power to change how you feel, I named the coffee shop Sesa after the Sesa Wo Suban, an ancient symbol of change and transformation. Sesa’s logo is loosely inspired by the Sesa Wo Suban symbol and has a soothing, hypnotic appearance, like being lost in conversation. It could also be interpreted as the swirling milk in a coffee cup. The logo drops down on the page on brand stationary, inspired by labels on CD sleeves. Event posters and coffee packaging were also designed, the latter relating each flavour to a genre of music.
